Resort Not a Hotel Setouchi / BIG

Cercado pelo Mar Interior de Seto, o mais novo resort do NOT A HOTEL Setouchi já está aberto na remota ilha de Sagishima. As três vilas distintas são construídas com solo do próprio local, utilizando a técnica tradicional de terra batida, e esculpidas no terreno montanhoso da ilha. Composto por três vilas, um restaurante à beira-mar e uma praia privativa, o NOT A HOTEL Setouchi ocupa um terreno de 30.000 m2 no sudoeste de Sagishima. Projetado por BIG e construído em menos de dois anos, o empreendimento fracionado foi oferecido por meio do modelo de propriedade compartilhada do NOT A HOTEL, ampliando a rede de casas de férias de luxo da marca no Japão.

A Casa Sailom é uma residência de quatro pavimentos que abriga membros de três famílias. O escritório Anonym concebe o interior para remeter a um apartamento de serviços, com espaços funcionais que permitem que cada membro utilize os ambientes de forma livre e independente em cada andar. O térreo reúne as áreas comuns, como sala de estar e cozinha, enquanto os pavimentos superiores abrigam dormitórios, outras salas de estar e pequenas copas. Todos os andares são conectados por dois pátios internos que se abrem para um vazio central, estendendo-se do térreo ao quarto pavimento.

O projeto se apresenta como uma reflexão sobre a transformação de uma casa pré-fabricada em madeira, construída há mais de duas décadas, cuja condição original de ocupação temporária evolui para um modelo de habitação permanente. Essa transição implica não apenas uma atualização funcional, mas uma reinterpretação integral de suas lógicas espaciais, construtivas e ambientais, em correspondência com novas formas de habitar contemporâneas.
Hotel Songtsam Jiuzhai / Thinking Design

Numa altitude de 3.000 metros, em Jiuzhaigou, encontra-se uma microvila composta por apenas oito cabanas de madeira — o menor vilarejo administrativo da China. Suspensa contra o céu pelos ventos, ela coexiste com nuvens, abetos e o terreno rochoso. Agora, somos encarregados de transformar esse lugar singular em um resort. Aqui, projetar não significa “renovar”, mas “relembrar”: reativar as memórias inscritas na terra, o sopro oculto nas florestas e na madeira, e os vestígios do tempo depositados nas montanhas em camadas. Permitir que a madeira envelhecida reacenda, que as antigas casas se ergam novamente, que as nascentes voltem a cantar. Que cada peça de madeira retorne à encosta e que cada fissura revele a ação do vento e do frio.

People are influenced by built space, so we planned Songsan Middle School to have a variety of building groups and yards so that children can grow up in a village-like landscape that changes just by moving a few steps. We all want to raise our children to be more open-minded and endeavoring. And to do so, the fundamental shape and structure of the school needs to change. School buildings should be broken down into smaller blocks, with small yards and outside spaces in various shapes and forms in between the blocks where they can play around. I think our kids’ school should feel more like a “Smurfs’ Village” than one large building, which is the standard layout of schools seen in Korea.

Located in a dense residential district of Bangkok, Prachauthit Road, FN House reveals a bold, massive front yet humbly connects with the neighborhood through its materials. The rigid stacking geometric form on the exterior gives bold and noticeable visuals, whilst inside the house is activated by the factor of contrast of its form by having a curved mezzanine balcony as a surprise architectural element. Together with using light tone materials, this creates a pleasant ambience for the premises to blend with the natural existing and surrounding context.

Located in the neighborhood of Martínez, north of Buenos Aires and just meters from the Río de la Plata, a contemporary residence is developed within a subdivision landscaped by Carlos Thays on an old estate from the early 20th century. The presence of a large white eucalyptus tree defines the implantation and organizes the project, which is conceived as a volume that embraces an interior courtyard.

One among many standard stands at the book fair, a 3-by-3-metre footprint tasked with holding little more than shelves and a counter. the budget, predictably, was limited. within this almost generic brief, the project accepts its condition as an installation, but refuses its expected neutrality. it works instead with what is already there: leftover metal profiles of different sections, repainted in a deliberately fresh, almost excessive palette.

The ReGreeneration project, led by C40 Cities and supported by ARUP, Placemaking Europe, Climato Sfera, Inetum, and many others, operates at the intersection of urban ecology, public health, infrastructure, and neighborhood-scale design. Its premise addresses how European cities are built and maintained and how they experience a changing climate, arguing that cities must fundamentally change to remain livable under accelerating climate pressures.
